The middle of November always feels like a pause between worlds. Gratitude is beginning to fill the air, yet the rush of the holidays hasn’t quite swept us away. It’s a sacred in-between space — a time to breathe, pray, and ask, How am I really doing?
This moment matters. It’s easy to coast through these last weeks of the year, promising ourselves that we’ll reset once January comes. But the truth is, the foundation for our next season is being laid right now. The thoughts we think, the habits we practice, and the focus we choose in November and December shape the clarity we carry into the new year.
That’s why this season of reflection is such a gift. It invites us to pause before the year ends — not to judge ourselves, but to realign with what matters most.
One quiet morning, I sat with my coffee, praying and reflecting on the past year. On the table beside me rested my book, Rise & Shine: A Journey Within. Just seeing it made me smile. I knew the title a full year before I began writing. Holy Spirit had whispered it again and again, nudging me to begin. Once I said yes, everything flowed. I wrote the book in three months, and a month later it was published.
Holding that finished copy reminded me of one simple truth: when we align with divine timing, momentum follows.
That same principle applies to this moment in the year. When we realign now — before the rush, before the noise — we set ourselves up to move into the new year clear, grounded, and ready.
Reflection — Awareness Without Judgment
Reflection isn’t just about looking backward; it’s about noticing where we stand right now.
Take a quiet moment this week and ask yourself:
• What am I proud of so far this year?
• Where did I stay consistent?
• Where did I drift or lose focus?
The goal isn’t to criticize but to understand. Gratitude from this season becomes the foundation for growth. Every experience — whether a victory or a setback — offers insight if we’re willing to look through the lens of grace.
For me, publishing my book reminded me that progress doesn’t require perfection. It requires presence. When we slow down enough to recognize how far we’ve come, even small steps feel sacred.
The same goes for finishing this year strong. It’s not about how much we can still accomplish; it’s about how intentionally we move through what remains. There’s power in awareness. When you know where you stand, you can choose where to go next.
The 3 Rs: Reflect, Recenter, Refocus
When life feels scattered or overwhelming, I often guide my clients through what I call the 3 Rs. It’s a simple but powerful practice that transforms chaos into clarity.
Reflect
Reflection invites honesty and humility. It helps you see what’s been working and what hasn’t.
Maybe you began the year with energy and clear goals, but life took some unexpected turns. Reflection helps you gather the lessons rather than the losses.
I once coached a woman who told me she “felt behind” because she hadn’t reached all her yearly goals. But when she took time to reflect, she realized she’d grown in ways she never expected — in patience, leadership, and confidence. Reflection helped her see the progress that numbers couldn’t measure.
Recenter
Reconnection happens in stillness. Pause and listen for what Holy Spirit is speaking to your heart in this season.
Ask yourself:
• Am I living in alignment with my values?
• Where am I striving instead of flowing?
• What truly matters most as I close this chapter of the year?
When you recenter, peace returns. You stop running on autopilot and start living with awareness again. Sometimes recentering simply means turning down the world’s volume long enough to hear God’s whisper again.
Refocus
Refocus is where movement begins.
Instead of trying to catch up on everything, choose one or two areas that matter most. Maybe it’s finishing a project, restoring a relationship, or simply entering the holidays with a calm heart.
When your focus is scattered, your energy feels drained. But when you focus on what matters, your momentum multiplies. Refocus isn’t about doing more; it’s about directing your energy with intention.
This week, try writing down the three things that matter most before the year ends. Keep them simple and spirit-led. Then ask, What’s one step I can take in each area to close this year well? You’ll be amazed at how much lighter you feel once your energy is aligned again.
Embrace the Timing
In Rise & Shine: A Journey Within, one of my favorite lessons is “Embrace what is: find serenity within.” It speaks to trust — trust in divine timing, trust in the process, and trust that we’re exactly where we need to be to learn what’s next.
When I look back on the book’s creation, I see how timing mattered. I wasn’t ready to write it a year earlier. The message was still forming inside me. But when I finally said yes, the words came easily because I was aligned.
Maybe that’s where you are right now. Something in you might still be unfolding — a dream, a habit, a healing. Don’t rush it. Alignment doesn’t always mean speed. Sometimes it means slowing down long enough to let purpose catch up.
Holy Spirit’s timing is never late. It’s always perfect. So if certain goals are still in progress, trust that the delay has meaning. The lessons learned in waiting often prepare us for what’s next.
Embrace what is. Trust the timing. You’ll know when it’s time to move.
Finish with Intention, Begin with Clarity
It’s tempting to coast through these final weeks, to tell ourselves that change will start in January. But real transformation begins in the decisions we make today.
Take a deep breath. Ask yourself:
• What do I want to carry into 2026?
• What can I release so there’s room for something new?
• How do I want to feel when this year ends?
Finishing well doesn’t require doing more. It’s about aligning your heart and focus so you enter the next season from a place of peace, not pressure.
Maybe that means clearing your schedule for rest, or recommitting to a goal that still matters. Maybe it simply means allowing gratitude to guide every decision for the rest of the year.
Whatever it looks like, be intentional. The energy you end the year with sets the tone for the one ahead. When you finish in alignment, you begin in strength.
Your Next Step
As I look at Rise & Shine resting nearby, I’m reminded that alignment is what makes everything flow. The same grace that guided me through that book is available to all of us — right here, right now.
You don’t have to wait for January to reset.
You don’t have to overhaul your life to realign it.
You simply have to pause, breathe, and decide that clarity matters more than chaos.
Because when you refocus, direction returns.
When you recenter, peace follows.
And when you rise, you rise from purpose, not pressure.
If you’re new to my work, start with Rise & Shine: A Journey Within. It’s a guide to help you reflect, reconnect, and rediscover your purpose.
And if you’re ready to turn that reflection into transformation, my Rise & Shine coaching program will walk with you through that process — helping you finish 2025 with focus and enter 2026 with confidence.
Your next chapter begins now.
Refocus. Recenter. Rise.
