It’s more than a phrase. It’s a calling.
The words Rise & Shine have followed me for years. At first, they felt like a gentle nudge. Then a whisper I couldn’t ignore. Eventually, they became a clear calling – the title of my book, my signature coaching program, and the heartbeat of how I now serve others.
But to me, Rise & Shine isn’t a catchy slogan or clever brand.
It’s a spiritual invitation.
It’s a reminder that no matter how far we’ve drifted from who we truly are, there’s always a path back. Back to joy. Back to clarity. Back to the version of you that God created – not the one molded by fear, shame, or performance.
Let’s break it down.
Rise means wake up. Not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and energetically. It’s the moment when you begin to see your life more clearly – when you notice what you’ve been tolerating, suppressing, or avoiding. When you feel that stirring that says, There’s more for me than this.
For me, rising meant facing some uncomfortable truths. I had to acknowledge the habits and mindsets that were keeping me small. I had to stop pretending everything was okay when it wasn’t. I had to leave behind old narratives – the stories that said I wasn’t enough, or that I had to earn love, or that I was disqualified from purpose because of my past.
Rising isn’t about perfection. It’s about awareness. It’s about getting honest with yourself and saying, “I may not have all the answers yet, but I refuse to stay asleep in my own life.”
Shine is where the beauty unfolds.
Shining means living in your truth, fully, unapologetically, and without permission slips. It’s about stepping into the person God designed you to be, not the one the world pressured you to become.
To shine is to show up as yourself, in all your brilliance and vulnerability. To own your voice, your story, your healing. To stop shrinking to make others comfortable or delaying your dreams because you’re afraid of being “too much,” or “too different.”
I used to confuse shining with performing. I thought it meant keeping it all together, looking polished, and never missing a beat. But I’ve learned that real shine comes from the inside out. It’s not manufactured, it’s embodied.
It’s what happens when you do the work to love yourself deeply, align with your values, and walk in purpose.
That’s why I chose these words. Not because they sounded nice. But because they reflect my own journey.
I had to rise out of the cycles that kept me stuck—emotionally, spiritually, relationally. I had to stop living for approval and start living for alignment. And I had to do the deep, inner work to shine – not as an act, but as a reflection of wholeness.
And that journey? It wasn’t linear. It wasn’t easy. But it was worth it.
I wrote about that journey in Rise & Shine: A Journey Within. It’s not a how-to book. It’s not a step-by-step manual. It’s an honest offering – woven with my personal stories, spiritual insights, and the mindset tools that helped me heal and rebuild from the inside out.
- It’s for the woman who looks successful but feels hollow.
- For the man who’s lost his way and wants to come home to himself.
- For the leader who’s tired of leading with a mask on.
- For the seeker who knows there’s more but doesn’t know where to start.
So what does Rise & Shine mean to you?
Maybe it means facing something you’ve been avoiding.
Maybe it’s speaking up in a space where you’ve been silent.
Maybe it’s creating a morning routine, reading the book, or scheduling a coaching session.
Maybe it’s simply pausing long enough to hear your own voice again.
Whatever it means to you, I want you to know this: you don’t have to get it all right. You just have to begin. One honest step forward. One brave decision to show up. That’s how rising starts. That’s how shining grows.
And you don’t have to do it alone.
So, whether your next step is picking up the book, exploring coaching, or just being a little more honest with yourself today – I hope you’ll take it.
When you’re ready to rise, I’ll be here to walk with you.
